Cathodic Protection - Services

Since our inception, we have provided Cathodic Protection Systems of diversified nature across lengths and breadths of the country encompassing thousands of kilometers of cross country pipelines, tank bottoms, petrochemical plants, refineries, power plants, fertilizer plants, jetties and other off shore structures. As the market leader in the domain of Cathodic Protection services, CIPL offers turnkey solutions involving the following activities :

Systems Design and Engineering

We have a dedicated team of qualified & skilled engineers for this critical activity. The team with the analysis of available data and survey reports design the most suitable system for providing the Cathodic Protection.

Manufacturing and Supply of Materials

We have our own manufacturing facility to produce some of the products required for the proposed Cathodic Protection System. The remaining products are bought out items from the approved vendors. Inspection & Testing of procured material is part of the service.

Installation, Testing and Commissioning

Team of qualified and skilled engineers, supervisors and technicians, carry out the Installation, Testing and Commissioning of the deployed Cathodic Protection System at project sites.

Pre/post commissioning surveys appraise the corrosion activity by testing soil, water and stray current. The service also includes determining the reason or cause of corrosion attack, its prevalence and also the remedy for it.  The company undertakes various types of surveys such as:

  • Soil Resistivity Survey
  • Current Requirement / Drainage Survey
  • Pearson Survey
  • Current Attenuation Test (CAT) Survey
  • Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG) survey
  • Close Interval Potential (CIP) Survey
  • Stray Current Interference Survey
  • On / Off Potential Survey

Monitoring and Maintenance

Monitoring and Maintenance is quintessential for the effectiveness & longevity of any service/installation, and therefore, we firmly believe in providing post commissioning M&M service. Monitoring & Maintenance also includes health checks for CTE/PE coatings and coating Repairs.

The company offers Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) for the cross-country pipelines and Plant Cathodic Protection Systems in tie-up with Cimcon Software Inc, USA.

External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA) is one of the value add offering of the company. ECDA is a process that integrates knowledge of the physical characteristics and operating history of a pipeline with the results of diagnostic testing performed on the pipeline system to determine the integrity of the pipeline. The process is then validated by the physical examination of the pipeline. Direct Assessment process contains four components - Pre-Assessment, Indirect Examination, Direct Examination and Post Assessment.

We are also engaged in conducting training programmes involving areas such as System Design & Engineering, Corrosion Monitoring, Pipeline Integrity Management, Survey Methods & Evaluation Techniques, and Post Commissioning Operations & Maintenance.
